Ingredients

Meats:

  • 1 lb hamburger meat
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage

Shrimp:

  • 1012 shrimp, tail off and deveined
  • 1 tsp seafood seasoning

Other Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups broth (Better Than Bouillon chicken)
  • 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper, more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp: Coat shrimp with seafood seasoning.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Sear shrimp in oil until curled. Set aside.
  3. Cook meats: Brown hamburger meat and sausage.
  4. Add veggies: Cook onions, bell peppers, and garlic with meats.
  5. Season: Add oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, pepper, salt, and cayenne.
  6. Add flour and broth: Thicken with flour and gradually add broth, simmer.
