This crunchy Ranch Chex Mix Snack is a savory, flavorful party mix combining Rice Chex cereal, nuts, pretzels, and crackers all tossed in a buttery ranch seasoning blend and baked to perfection. It’s a perfect snack for gatherings or anytime munching with a burst of cheesy, tangy, and herby flavors.

Ingredients

Dry Mix

  • 5 cups rice cereal (such as Rice Chex cereal)
  • 2 cups cashews or cocktail mix peanuts
  • 5 cups pretzels
  • 3 cups cheese crackers
  • 2 cups oyster crackers

Seasoning and Coating

  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ounce ranch seasoning dry powder
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large rimmed jelly roll sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In an extra large mixing bowl, add the rice cereal, cashews or cocktail mix peanuts, pretzels, cheese crackers, and oyster crackers. Gently toss together using large slotted spoons to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  3. Melt Butter and Add to Mix: Melt the unsalted butter in the microwave until fully liquefied. Pour the melted butter over the mixed dry ingredients in the bowl and gently toss to coat everything evenly.
  4. Prepare Seasoning Blend: In a small bowl, combine the ranch seasoning dry powder, mustard powder, grated parmesan cheese, and dried parsley flakes. Mix these thoroughly to create the flavorful seasoning mix.
  5. Season the Chex Mix: Sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over the butter-coated mixture. Gently toss the entire mixture again to make sure every piece is seasoned well.
  6. Bake the Mix: Spread the seasoned mixture evenly over the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, tossing the mixture halfway through baking to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
  7. Cool and Store: Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the Ranch Chex Mix to cool completely. Store the cooled mix in an airtight container to maintain freshness and crunch.
