Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 25 Double-Stuffed Golden Oreos
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Coating

  • 1 package orange candy melts (12 oz)
  • ¼ cup green candy melts

Instructions

  1. Prep Workspace: Prepare your workspace by placing a sheet of parchment paper on a cutting board or plate that fits in the fridge or freezer. Gather a dipping spoon and microwave-safe bowls for melting candy melts. Have a piping bag or a ziplock bag ready for decorating.
  2. Crush Oreos: Transfer the Golden Oreos into a food processor or place them in a large ziplock bag and crush using a rolling pin until finely ground. Pour the crumbs into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix Dough: Add the softened cream cheese and pumpkin pie spice to the crushed Oreos. Mix thoroughly until a dough forms and can be rolled into balls.
  4. Shape Truffles: Measure and scoop approx. 1-inch size portions (or one heaping teaspoon) of dough. Roll each into a ball and place on the prepared parchment. Repeat until all dough is used.
  5. Chill Dough: Place the tray with the dough balls in the fridge or freezer and chill for about 30 minutes to harden them.
  6. Melt Orange Candy: Remove dough balls from the fridge. Melt orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl by heating for 30 seconds intervals, stirring well between sessions to avoid scorching.
  7. Coat Truffles: Using a spoon, dip each dough ball into the melted orange candy melts until fully coated. Lift out the truffle, tapping gently on the bowl rim to remove excess coating. Place coated truffles back on parchment and smooth out any indentations with the spoon tip.
  8. Prepare Green Candy Melts: Melt the green candy melts similarly in the microwave. Transfer them to a piping bag or ziplock bag with a small hole cut in the corner for decorating.
  9. Decorate: Pipe green stems and leaves on each truffle to mimic pumpkin features, creating approximated star shapes with five or six points. Allow the candy decorations to set and harden completely.
  10. Serve: Once fully set, serve and enjoy these festive Pumpkin Pie Truffles with friends and family.

Notes

  • For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to blend easily with Oreo crumbs.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, crushing Oreos in a ziplock bag with a rolling pin works well.
  • Be careful not to overheat the candy melts to avoid burning and clumping.
  • Store the truffles in the refrigerator to maintain their shape and freshness.
  • These truffles are perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any fall gathering.
  • You can substitute the candy melts with white chocolate and food coloring if preferred.
