This Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is a deliciously creamy and nutritious blend that captures the warm flavors of fall. Made with frozen banana, pumpkin puree, warm spices, and a touch of maple syrup, it’s a perfect healthy treat or breakfast option that combines the essence of pumpkin pie in a refreshing, drinkable form.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup (120g) vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 2/3 cup (150g) pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or nondairy)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Spices and Sweeteners

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 Tablespoons (42g/30ml) pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blender: Ensure you have a strong, powerful blender for the best results. Gather all the ingredients and add them to the blender in the order listed.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Blend on high for at least 3 minutes or until the mixture is completely smooth. Pause blending occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
  3. Adjust Consistency and Flavor: If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk a little at a time until desired consistency is reached. For a thicker texture, add a couple more ice cubes. Taste the smoothie and adjust spices if desired by adding more cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.

Notes

  • Use frozen banana to achieve a creamy and cold texture without diluting the smoothie.
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt adds protein and creaminess, but you can substitute with dairy-free yogurt to make it vegan.
  • Pure maple syrup is preferred as a natural sweetener, but honey or agave syrup can work as alternatives.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste preference; pumpkin pie spice usually contains cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  • If you don’t have pumpkin puree, canned pumpkin can be used, but ensure it is pure pumpkin without added sugars or spices.
