This Protein Oatmeal recipe is a quick and nutritious breakfast option that combines hearty oats with protein powder and natural sweetness from banana. Cooked on the stovetop, it results in a creamy, fluffy texture perfect for a filling start to your day. Enhanced with cinnamon and vanilla, this oatmeal is both flavorful and satisfying.

Ingredients

Oatmeal Base

  • ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • pinch of sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water or milk

Protein Addition

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the oats, banana slices, sea salt, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and the water or milk into a pot. Stir well to mix all the ingredients evenly before cooking.
  2. Cook the Oats: Place the pot on medium-high heat and cook for 8-10 minutes. Stir regularly to ensure the banana slices melt into the oats and prevent sticking. The oatmeal is done once all liquid is absorbed and oats become thick and fluffy.
  3. Add Protein Powder: Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla protein powder thoroughly. If the oatmeal is too thick, gradually add a bit more water or milk to reach desired consistency.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl and add your preferred toppings such as nuts, fruits, or seeds for added texture and nutrition.

Notes

  • Using milk instead of water will make the oatmeal creamier and add extra protein and calcium.
  • You can substitute the banana with other fruits like applesauce or berries if preferred.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Ensure to stir frequently during cooking to prevent oatmeal from sticking to the pot bottom.
  • This recipe is ideal for a quick one-serving breakfast, but can be easily doubled or tripled for more servings.
