Monster Chocolate Bark is a simple and delicious treat featuring a rich layer of bittersweet chocolate studded with an assortment of colorful candy pieces. This easy no-bake recipe combines smooth, melted chocolate with your favorite candies for a fun and festive dessert that’s perfect for sharing or gifting.

Ingredients

Chocolate

  • 3 cups bittersweet chocolate chips

Candy Toppings

  • 2 cups assorted candy, cut into bite-size pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted without any lumps.
  3. Spread Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper and use a spatula to spread it evenly into a 1/4-inch thick layer for consistent texture and thickness.
  4. Add Candy: Sprinkle the assorted bite-sized candy pieces evenly over the spread chocolate while it is still warm so they adhere properly.
  5. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 to 45 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden completely.
  6. Cut and Serve: Remove the hardened chocolate bark from the fridge, carefully lift it off the parchment paper onto a cutting board, and break or cut it into irregular sized pieces. Serve immediately or store for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • You can use dark, milk, or white chocolate according to your taste preference; bittersweet chocolate (60-70% cocoa) is recommended to balance the sweetness of the candy toppings.
  • Store chocolate bark in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks. If your kitchen is warm, refrigerate in a sealed container to prevent melting, though the chocolate may lose some shine due to condensation when returning to room temperature.
