Melted Witch Fruit Dip is a fun and festive chocolate chip cream cheese dip with a sweet, creamy texture and a playful green color. Perfect for Halloween or any gathering, this easy-to-make dip pairs beautifully with fresh fruit, graham crackers, and pretzels. The addition of mini chocolate chips adds delightful bursts of chocolate sweetness in every bite, while the Oreo and Hershey’s Kiss decoration whimsically resembles a witch’s hat.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 56 drops green food coloring (adjust to preference)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Decoration and Serving

  • Half an Oreo cookie
  • 1 Hershey’s Kiss
  • Fresh fruit slices (such as apple, pear, or berries)
  • Graham crackers (optional)
  • Pretzels (optional)

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a mixer until light and fluffy and no lumps remain.
  2. Add condensed milk and mix: Slowly pour in the sweetened condensed milk while continuing to beat the mixture until smooth and well combined.
  3. Incorporate sugar and vanilla: Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then beat until all ingredients are fully blended and smooth.
  4. Add food coloring and chocolate chips: Drop in 5-6 drops of green food coloring and mix until color is evenly distributed. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips for texture and flavor.
  5. Prepare serving dish and swirl: Pour the dip into a serving dish. For a fun “melted witch” effect, place a couple of dots of green food coloring on top and use a toothpick to swirl the color decoratively through the dip.
  6. Decorate with witch’s hat: Place half of an Oreo cookie on top of the dip, then place a Hershey’s Kiss on the Oreo to create a witch’s hat decoration.
  7. Serve with accompaniments: Serve the dip chilled with fresh fruit slices, graham crackers, and pretzels for dipping.
  8. Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume within 3-4 days for best freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to prevent lumps and ensure smooth mixing.
  • Adjust green food coloring based on your preferred shade for a more or less vibrant look.
  • The dip is best served chilled but can be left out at room temperature for up to 30 minutes during serving.
  • Substitute mini chocolate chips with white or dark chocolate chips according to preference.
  • Use a gentle folding technique when adding chocolate chips to avoid breaking them up.
  • For a vegan alternative, substitute cream cheese and condensed milk with plant-based versions.
