Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender salmon filets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, cooked on the stovetop and finished under the broiler for a beautifully caramelized finish. Perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner, it balances the rich buttery garlic glaze with a hint of spice from sriracha and a touch of smoky paprika.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season both sides evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and optional blackening seasoning. Set the filets aside while preparing the sauce.
  2. Preheat the Broiler: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position to prevent the sauce from burning. Preheat the broiler to high (approximately 550°F or 288°C).
  3. Prepare the Sauce in the Skillet: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter and olive oil and allow the butter to melt completely. Stir in minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook the sauce for about 30 seconds until it is warm and well combined.
  4. Cook the Salmon on the Stovetop: Place the salmon filets skin-side down (if using skin-on salmon) into the skillet. Cook for about 3 minutes, basting frequently by spooning the sauce over the salmon to infuse flavor and keep it moist.
  5. Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven under the preheated broiler. Broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once during cooking with the sauce from the pan. Broil until the salmon is caramelized on top and cooked to your preferred level of doneness.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven carefully. Garnish the salmon with minced fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over each portion.

Notes

  • Using an oven-safe skillet is essential to seamlessly transition from stovetop cooking to broiling.
  • Adjust the broiler rack position carefully to avoid burning the sauce due to high sugar content in honey.
  • If you prefer less heat, reduce or omit the sriracha sauce.
  • Salmon skin is optional, but cooking with skin side down helps protect the fish and adds texture.
  • Leftover glaze can be saved and warmed gently for use as a dipping sauce or glaze on other proteins.
