Ingredients

Beef Wraps

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 large pita breads or wraps
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced cucumber

Creamy Feta Dill Sauce

  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon to ensure even cooking.
  2. Season the beef: Sprinkle the paprika, garlic powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper over the beef. Stir and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the spices are fragrant and the beef is fully cooked.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, combine crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, chopped fresh dill, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  4. Warm the pita breads: Heat the pita breads in a pan or oven for about 1 minute until warm and pliable.
  5. Assemble the wraps: On each pita bread, layer the cooked beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced red onion, and cucumber pieces.
  6. Add the sauce: Drizzle the creamy feta dill sauce evenly over the fillings in each wrap.
  7. Serve: Fold the wraps tightly and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground lamb for the beef to give a more traditional Greek flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef while cooking.
  • Use whole wheat pita breads for a healthier option.
  • The creamy feta dill sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to two days.
  • Adding sliced olives or a few crumbled kalamata olives inside the wrap will enhance the Greek taste.
