Fresh Mango Salsa is a vibrant, tangy, and slightly spicy condiment made with ripe mangoes, red bell pepper, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and fresh lime juice. Perfect for serving with chips, grilled meats, or as a refreshing topping for tacos, this salsa can be prepared in just 15 minutes and offers a delightful balance of sweet, spicy, and citrus flavors.

Ingredients

Fresh Mango Salsa Ingredients

  • 3 ripe mangos, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup chopped red onion
  • ¼ cup packed fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1 large lime, juiced (about ¼ cup lime juice)
  • to ¼ teaspoon salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a serving bowl, add the diced mangoes, chopped red bell pepper, chopped red onion, chopped cilantro leaves, and minced jalapeño. Pour the freshly squeezed lime juice over the mixture to add brightness and acidity.
  2. Mix and Season: Stir all the ingredients together thoroughly using a large spoon. Season the salsa with salt according to your taste, mixing again to evenly distribute the seasoning.
  3. Rest for Flavor: Allow the salsa to rest for at least 10 minutes or longer. This resting time lets the flavors meld together, giving the salsa a more vibrant and balanced taste before serving.

Notes

  • For less heat, reduce or omit the jalapeño seeds.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
  • This salsa is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Great accompaniment for tortilla chips, grilled chicken, fish tacos, or as a topping for salads.
  • To dice a mango: slice off the cheeks, score the flesh in a grid pattern without piercing the skin, then scoop out the cubes with a spoon.
