This Easy Pizza Dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring a creamy blend of cream cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic, and layers of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese topped with savory pizza sauce and pepperoni. Baked to bubbly perfection, it’s perfect for serving hot with your favorite dippers like pita chips or baguette slices.

Ingredients

Base

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Cheese

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

Toppings

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 ounces pepperoni slices (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350° F to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Mix Base Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Mix well using an electric mixer or whisk by hand until smooth and fully blended.
  3. Layer Base: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a 9-inch pie plate or an 8×8 inch square baking dish.
  4. Add Cheese Layer: Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Apply Pizza Sauce: Pour the pizza sauce evenly over the cheese layer and spread it gently with a spoon or spatula.
  6. Top With Remaining Cheese and Pepperoni: Add the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top of the sauce. Distribute the chopped pepperoni slices evenly. For less grease, microwave the pepperoni for 15-20 seconds on paper towels before adding.
  7. Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and warm. Alternatively, microwave the dip for about 5 minutes if using a microwave-safe dish.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot with dippers like pita chips, baguette slices, bagel chips, tortilla scoops, Fritos scoops, or other hearty crackers.

Notes

  • You can microwave the pepperoni briefly on paper towels to reduce excess grease before adding it to the dip.
  • Adjust baking time slightly based on your oven and dish size; the dip should be hot and bubbly when done.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
  • Try different dippers such as breadsticks or veggie sticks for a healthier option.
  • The dip can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
