This Dill Pickle Chex Mix is a savory snack made by coating Chex cereal, pretzels, peanuts, and chopped dill pickle chips with a buttery dill-flavored seasoning. The mix is baked until crispy and can be customized with added spices for extra heat. Perfect for parties or on-the-go snacking!

Ingredients

Chex Mix:

  • 3 cups Chex cereal, any variety
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts or your favorite nut
  • 1 cup dill pickle chips, chopped

Seasoning:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dill weed
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Chex cereal, pretzel sticks, roasted peanuts, and chopped dill pickle chips.
  3. Prepare Seasoning: In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, dill pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, dill weed, and salt.
  4. Coat Mix: Pour the butter mixture over the Chex mix and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Bake: Spread the mixture onto the baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven, cool completely, and store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use your favorite variety of Chex cereal—corn, rice, or wheat all work well.
  • For a nut-free option, substitute peanuts with seeds or more pretzels.
  • Ensure the dill pickle chips are chopped small to evenly distribute the flavor.
  • Stir the mix frequently while baking to prevent burning and ensure even coating.
  • Adjust the seasoning to taste; add more pickle juice or dill weed for stronger flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness for up to a week.
