Chilled for an hour to meld the flavors perfectly, this dip is a rich and flavorful appetizer ideal for serving at parties or as a tasty snack alongside crackers or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

For the Shrimp Dip

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound cooked salad shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions, plus more for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the creamy base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Beat on medium speed with a handheld mixer for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy, providing a rich and velvety base for the dip.
  2. Add seasonings: Incorporate the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper into the bowl. Mix again on low speed just until all ingredients are fully combined and the dip is smooth and well-seasoned.
  3. Fold in shrimp and herbs: Using a large spoon or rubber spatula, gently fold in the finely chopped cooked shrimp, fresh parsley, and green onions until everything is evenly distributed throughout the creamy mixture.
  4. Chill the dip: Transfer the completed shrimp dip to a serving bowl and cover it tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight, allowing the flavors to blend and the dip to chill thoroughly.
  5. Garnish and serve: When ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap and garnish the top of the dip with additional finely chopped parsley and green onions. Optionally, add a few reserved whole shrimp on top for an attractive presentation. Serve chilled with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.
