Crispy and golden Air Fryer French Fries made from fresh russet potatoes, seasoned with a perfect blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. A healthier alternative to deep-fried fries, these come out perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 1 lb russet potatoes (2 large or 3 medium potatoes)

Seasonings & Oil

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Scrub and clean the potatoes thoroughly to remove dirt and impurities. Cut the potatoes into even ¼-inch thick strips to ensure uniform cooking.
  2. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the cut fries in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them completely dry using a clean towel or paper towels to achieve maximum crispiness.
  3. Season Fries: Place the dried fries in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over the fries, and toss again to distribute the seasonings thoroughly.
  4. Air Fry Initial Cook: Transfer the seasoned fries into the air fryer basket in a single layer, if possible. Cook at 380°F for 10 minutes to start the cooking process and begin crisping the fries.
  5. Shake and Finish Cooking: After 10 minutes, shake or toss the fries to promote even cooking. Continue air frying for an additional 6 to 10 minutes, until fries are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  6. Serve: Remove fries from the air fryer, optionally garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Soaking the cut potatoes in cold water removes excess starch for crispier fries.
  • Patting fries completely dry before air frying helps achieve crunchy texture.
  • Adjust seasoning quantities to personal preference.
  • Shake or toss fries halfway through cooking to promote even browning.
  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the air fryer model and thickness of fries.
  • For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow hot air circulation.
