Perfect for a crowd, this no-bake dessert combines creamy textures and vibrant fruit flavors for a visually stunning and delicious treat.

Ingredients

Trifle Ingredients

  • 6.8 ounces instant white chocolate pudding mix (two 3.4-ounce containers, Jello brand recommended)
  • 4 cups cold whole milk
  • 14 ounces store-bought angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 16 ounces thawed whipped topping (two 8-ounce containers)
  • 32 ounces fresh strawberries, washed, stems removed, sliced, and patted dry
  • 18 ounces fresh blueberries, washed and patted dry

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: Follow the package directions for the instant white chocolate pudding, mixing the pudding mix with cold whole milk. Chill the pudding in the refrigerator until it is fully set.
  2. Layer the cake: In a trifle bowl (approximately 3.25 quarts or 104 ounces), place a single layer of 1-inch angel food cake cubes across the bottom to form the base layer.
  3. Add pudding layer: Spoon half of the chilled white chocolate pudding evenly over the cake cubes, covering them thoroughly.
  4. Decorate with strawberries: Arrange sliced strawberries along the edges of the bowl for decorative effect, then add a single layer of sliced strawberries on top of the pudding.
  5. Add blueberries: Layer the blueberries over the strawberry layer, making sure the berries are dry to prevent excess moisture in the trifle.
  6. Spread whipped topping: Evenly spread one container (8 ounces) of the thawed whipped topping over the blueberries layer.
  7. Repeat layers: Add another layer of angel food cake cubes, the remaining pudding, and then repeat the layers of sliced strawberries and blueberries, maintaining an attractive arrangement.
  8. Top with whipped topping: Spread the remaining container of whipped topping over the top of the final fruit layer.
  9. Final decoration: Garnish the top surface with the remaining sliced strawberries and blueberries for a colorful finish.
  10. Chill before serving: Refrigerate the completed trifle for at least 1 hour to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure berries are thoroughly dried after washing to avoid adding excess moisture to the trifle layers.
  • Use a clear trifle bowl or glass bowl to showcase the beautiful layered effect.
  • Angel food cake can be substituted with any light, airy white cake if preferred.
  • For best results, assemble the trifle no more than 6 hours ahead of serving to maintain freshness of the whipped topping.
  • This dessert is best served chilled and within 24 hours.
