This refreshing 3-Ingredient Peach Iced Tea combines freshly brewed black tea with a homemade peach syrup for a naturally sweetened, fruity beverage perfect for warm days. Using simple pantry staples, this iced tea offers a delightful balance of robust tea flavor and juicy peach sweetness, served chilled with ice and peach slices.

Ingredients

Black Tea

  • 3 black tea bags
  • 4 cups boiling water

Peach Syrup

  • 3 large ripe peaches, chopped
  • 2 cups water (divided: 1 cup + 1 cup)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (use 1/2 cup for a sweeter tea)

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the black tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a light simmer in a pot on the stovetop or an electric kettle. Remove from heat and add the tea bags, fully submerging them. Let steep for 5 minutes, then carefully remove the tea bags. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature before transferring it to the fridge to chill.
  2. Make the peach syrup: In a blender, combine 1 cup of water, granulated sugar, and the chopped peaches. Blend briefly for 2-3 seconds, just enough to break down the peaches. Pour this mixture into a large pot, then add the remaining 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat on the stovetop.
  3. Simmer the syrup: Bring the peach mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to meld the flavors. Remove from the heat and let the syrup steep for another 30 minutes to deepen the peach flavor.
  4. Strain the syrup: Using a fine sieve, strain the peach syrup into a large pitcher or jar. Press down on the peach solids to extract all the juice and flavor. Chill the syrup in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Combine and serve: Once both the black tea and peach syrup are chilled, combine them in a large pitcher. Stir well to mix. Serve the peach iced tea over ice cubes and garnish with fresh peach slices for an attractive and flavorful presentation.

Notes

  • For a sweeter iced tea, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
  • Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the best flavor.
  • Steeping times are important to avoid bitterness from the tea or overpowering peach flavor.
  • This recipe yields about 7 servings; adjust ingredients proportionally for more or fewer servings.
  • Store the brewed iced tea and syrup separately for up to 2 days for best freshness.
