Ingredients

Cake:

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 Tablespoons milk
  • 4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. For the cake: Preheat oven to 375F. Boil margarine, water, and cocoa. Add flour, eggs, baking soda, sugar, and sour cream. Pour into pan and bake.
  2. Cool cake. For the frosting: Boil margarine, milk, and cocoa. Add walnuts (if using), powdered sugar, and vanilla. Pour over warm cake. Let cool and serve.
