Salmon Fillets:
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
Glaze Mixture:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.
- Coat Salmon: Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush generously with half of the glaze mixture, coating the tops and sides.
- Bake First Round: Bake for 8 minutes, then remove from oven and brush with the remaining glaze mixture for extra flavor and shine.
- Finish Baking: Return to oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork and internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Rest and Serve: Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Choose salmon fillets of equal thickness for even cooking
- Don’t skip the second glaze application – it creates the signature shine
- Internal temperature should reach 145°F for food safety
- Let salmon rest briefly before serving to retain juices
- For extra caramelization, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end
