Restaurant-style baked salmon with a sweet and savory glaze that creates a beautiful caramelized finish and tender, flaky interior.

Ingredients

Salmon Fillets:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

Glaze Mixture:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  3. Coat Salmon: Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush generously with half of the glaze mixture, coating the tops and sides.
  4. Bake First Round: Bake for 8 minutes, then remove from oven and brush with the remaining glaze mixture for extra flavor and shine.
  5. Finish Baking: Return to oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork and internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  6. Rest and Serve: Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Choose salmon fillets of equal thickness for even cooking
  • Don’t skip the second glaze application – it creates the signature shine
  • Internal temperature should reach 145°F for food safety
  • Let salmon rest briefly before serving to retain juices
  • For extra caramelization, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end
