A refreshing and vibrant Raspberry Lemonade made with fresh raspberries and lemon juice, sweetened with homemade simple syrup. Perfect for a cooling summer drink or any time you need a fruity, tangy beverage.

Ingredients

Simple Syrup and Raspberry Base

  • 1½ cups water (for simple syrup)
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries

Additional Ingredients

  • 1½ cups fresh-squeezed lemon juice (from 10 to 12 lemons)
  • 4 cups water
  • Fresh mint, for optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Simmer Ingredients: In a medium-sized pot, combine water, sugar, and fresh raspberries. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium-high heat to dissolve the sugar and infuse the liquid with raspberry flavor.
  2. Boil and Stir: When the mixture reaches a boil, stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved, ensuring a smooth syrup base.
  3. Cool and Blend: Allow the raspberry syrup mixture to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the raspberries are fully pureed.
  4. Strain Mixture: Pour the blended syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove all raspberry seeds, resulting in a clear, smooth liquid.
  5. Combine Lemonade: In a large pitcher, mix the fresh lemon juice, strained raspberry simple syrup, and additional water. Stir well to combine all the flavors evenly.
  6. Serve: Chill the lemonade thoroughly in the refrigerator and serve cold. Garnish with fresh mint if desired for added aroma and presentation.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar depending on your taste preference.
  • For an extra cold lemonade, add ice cubes or chill the pitcher before serving.
  • Fresh mint adds a nice aromatic touch but is optional.
  • Use fresh lemons and raspberries for the best flavor; frozen raspberries can be substituted if fresh are unavailable.
  • This lemonade can be lightly carbonated by adding sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy version.
