Nutter Butter trifle combines layers of creamy banana pudding, crunchy Nutter Butter cookies, and fresh banana slices for an easy, no-bake dessert. Perfect for any gathering, this quick-to-make treat is both fun to assemble and satisfying to serve.

Ingredients

For the pudding:

  • 2 ½ cups whole milk, cold
  • 5.1-ounce box of instant banana cream pudding
  • 4 ounces whipped topping, thawed, divided in half

For the trifle layers:

  • 32 Nutter Butter cookies
  • 4 cups fresh banana slices (from 34 large ripe bananas)
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter, warmed for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together whole milk and instant banana cream pudding until thickened. Fold in 4 ounces of whipped topping. Set aside.
  2. Layer the trifle: Place Nutter Butter cookies in the bottom of a trifle bowl, followed by banana slices. Add half the pudding, then repeat the layers. Finish with remaining whipped topping.
  3. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 4 hours. Before serving, crumble extra cookies on top and drizzle with warmed peanut butter.

Notes

  • A ‘Family Sized’ package of Nutter Butter cookies has exactly 32 cookies, perfect for this recipe.
  • Use commercial creamy peanut butter for the drizzle topping, not natural peanut butter.
  • Choose ripe yellow bananas with minimal brown spots for best results. Use whole or 2% milk for the pudding.
