  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Nuts:

  • ½ cup almond slices
  • ½ cup salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Butter: Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Stir in sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Stir until sugar melts (about 2 minutes).
  4. Cook Candy: Place candy thermometer in the mixture and cook to 300°F, stirring frequently (about 15 minutes).

  7. Cool and Break: Let it cool fully (about 30 minutes) before breaking into pieces.

  • Have all ingredients ready before starting as you need to move quickly.
  • Consider toasting nuts before adding for easier spreading.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
