This No Knead Dutch Oven Bread recipe is a simple way to make delicious homemade bread with minimal effort. With just a few basic ingredients and a bit of patience, you can enjoy a freshly baked loaf that is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside.

Ingredients

For the Bread:

  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 3¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp fine grain salt
  • 1 packet yeast

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine 1.5 cups warm water, one packet yeast, and ½ tbsp salt in a large bowl, stirring until dissolved.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: Add 3.25 cups of flour and mix into a sticky dough.
  3. Let the Dough Rise: Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Loaf: Scrape the dough onto floured parchment paper and shape into a loaf by folding the edges.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Flip the dough so the floured side faces up and center it on the parchment. Optionally, score the top of the loaf with shallow cuts for decoration.
  6. Bake the Bread: Preheat the oven and a Dutch oven. Transfer the dough, along with the parchment, into the hot Dutch oven. Bake covered for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
