A flavorful and easy Greek Chicken Tenders recipe featuring tender chicken breasts marinated in a zesty blend of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and aromatic oregano. Perfectly grilled or baked to juicy perfection, these chicken tenders make for a healthy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Chicken and Marinade

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the bowl with the marinade, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours, to allow the flavors to infuse deeply into the chicken.
  3. Preheat Cooking Surface: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C) depending on your preferred cooking method.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Grill or bake the chicken tenders for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the exterior is golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Slice the tenders and serve with your favorite dipping sauces or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Marinating the chicken for longer than 30 minutes (up to 4 hours) intensifies the flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked safely to 165°F (75°C).
  • These tenders can be cooked either on a grill or in the oven depending on your preference and available equipment.
  • Serves perfectly with a Greek salad, tzatziki sauce, or fresh veggies for a balanced meal.
  • Leftover chicken tenders can be stored in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 3 days.
