Ingredients

Pasta:

  • 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)

Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper

Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup pasta water (reserved)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Optional: freshly grated Parmesan, extra lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook Shrimp: Season and sear shrimp in olive oil and butter until just cooked through. Set aside.
  3. Make Sauce: Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes in butter. Add pasta, water, lemon zest, and juice. Toss together.
  4. Combine: Return shrimp to the pan, toss to coat. Garnish with parsley, Parmesan, and adjust seasoning.
  5. Serve: Dish out hot and enjoy with lemon wedges.
