Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste or ketchup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Rollup Assembly:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Add tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Roll out pastry: Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface. Spread cooked beef mixture and cheddar cheese evenly. Roll into a log and slice into rollups.
  4. Prepare for baking: Place rollups on baking sheet seam-side down. Brush with melted butter and egg wash.
  5. Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
