French Silk Brownies are a decadent dessert that combines rich, fudgy brownies with a creamy French silk topping, creating a delightful treat for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

Brownie Layer:

  • 1 box brownie mix (not prepared)
  • 1 egg
  • 5 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk

French Silk Layer:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 8 ounce Cool Whip (divided)
  • Chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare brownie mix: Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 11×7-inch glass baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix brownie mix, egg, melted butter, and milk until smooth. Spread batter in the baking dish and bake for 25-28 minutes.
  2. Cool and prepare French Silk layer: Cool brownies to room temperature. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and vanilla until smooth. Add powdered sugar and mix well.
  3. Prepare chocolate mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate and butter in intervals until melted.
  4. Combine mixtures: Stir chocolate mixture into cream cheese mixture. Fold in half of the Cool Whip.
  5. Assemble: Spread French silk layer over brownies, then top with remaining Cool Whip.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with chocolate shavings or chips. Slice and enjoy!
