Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, room temp
  • 2/3 cup (80g) powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) flour
  • 1/4 cup (30g) cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Beat butter + sugar until fluffy: In a mixing bowl, cream together the room temperature butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in egg + vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well.
  3. Add flour, cornstarch, salt → soft dough: Gradually mix in the flour, cornstarch, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Pipe swirls onto tray (star tip): Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the cookie dough into swirl shapes onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Chill 20–30 mins: Place the piped cookies in the refrigerator to chill for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Bake 350°F (175°C), 10–12 mins until edges lightly golden: Preheat the oven and bake the cookies at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool → store airtight: Allow the cookies to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
