Ingredients
Ground Beef Stir Fry:
1 lb ground beef
4 cups cabbage, shredded
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon chili paste (optional, for heat)
2 teaspoons sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish:
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Heat sesame oil: Heat sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Cook ground beef: Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Add aromatics: Once the beef is browned, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
Incorporate cabbage: Add the shredded cabbage and stir well, cooking until the cabbage is tender, about 4-5 minutes.
Add sauces: Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili paste (if using), and sugar. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Season and garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Serve: Serve hot with rice or noodles, or enjoy as-is for a low-carb option.
Notes
Adjust the level of chili paste to your preferred spice level.
For a more authentic touch, add a splash of Chinese cooking wine or Shaoxing wine.
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
