Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, coat the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Prepare the lo mein noodles or spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef: Sear the marinated beef in vegetable oil until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
  4. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, sauté onion, garlic, carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, and snow peas until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine and Cook: Reintroduce the beef to the skillet with vegetables. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth in a bowl. Pour over beef and veggies. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the Noodles: Combine cooked noodles with the beef and vegetable mixture until fully coated.
