  • Freshly cracked pepper and sea salt, to taste
  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins, thawed
  • 5 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules, divided (or you can use chicken base)

For the Dumplings:

  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: In a saucepan, saute vegetables in butter. Add seasonings, chicken, bouillon, and water. Simmer until chicken is cooked.
  2. Make the Dumplings: Combine flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and buttermilk. Roll out dough, cut into squares, and set aside.
  3. Finish the Dish: Strain vegetables, add water, bouillon, and pepper to broth. Boil, then add dumplings. Simmer until cooked. Add chicken back in, stir, and finish with cream.

Notes

  • Store leftovers refrigerated for 3-4 days.
  • Simmering chicken with veggies enhances flavor.
  • Pre-cooked chicken can be used for a quicker meal.
  • Thin dumplings cook faster, so adjust cook time.
  • Dust dumplings heavily with flour to prevent sticking.
  • Avoid overworking the dough for tender dumplings.
