A cozy, fall-inspired loaf loaded with tender apples and a sweet cinnamon swirl—perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped apples (Pink Lady, Gala, or Honeycrisp), peeled
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or neutral oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg, cloves, or apple pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add melted butter and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth.
  5. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped apples gently.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with ¾ of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar. Swirl with a knife or spatula.
  9. Bake for 35–45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  10. Let the bread cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
  • Customize with raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips for variety.
  • Substitute applesauce for butter for a denser, lower-fat version.
