Indulge in the rich and flavorful Cajun Alfredo Sauce, a creamy and spicy twist on the classic Alfredo. This sauce is perfect for coating pasta or as a dipping sauce for crusty bread.

Ingredients

Main Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (homemade or store-bought*)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (omit if your seasoning blend contains salt)
  • 1 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Cajun Spice Blend:

  • 1 lemon (zest only)
  • 3 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over low heat until it froths.
  2. Add Cream and Seasoning: Stir in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Add salt if needed. Simmer on low for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Finish the Sauce: Remove from heat, add lemon zest. Gradually stir in parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt.
  4. Serve: Toss sauce with pasta or use as desired.

Notes

  • *For the Cajun seasoning, you can use store-bought or make your own blend with spices like paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • **Freshly grated parmesan cheese is recommended for a creamy texture.
