Ingredients

  • 4 ounces dark chocolate bar, chopped and divided in half
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Heat-treat the flour in the oven for 5 minutes.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate: Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Add half of the chocolate and whisk until smooth.
  3. Add sugars and vanilla: Whisk in sugars until mixture is grainy. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift dry ingredients: Sift cocoa powder, salt, and heat-treated flour into the mixture. Stir to combine.
