A delicious and easy-to-make Banana Bread recipe that results in a moist and tender crumb. Perfect for using up ripe bananas.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ¼ cups)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/3 cup sour cream (can use plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat to 350°F and prepare loaf pan.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: Mash bananas, then whisk in sugar, eggs, butter, sour cream, and vanilla.
  4. Combine: Gently stir in flour mixture until just combined. Transfer to loaf pan.
  5. Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Tent with foil if browning too much.
  6. Cool and serve: Let cool in pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • To save time, you can skip whisking the dry ingredients separately and add them together in step 4.
  • Tools Needed: 8.5 x 4.5 inch or 9 x 5 inch loaf pan, mixing bowls.
